SHAY WOODHOUSE - Wave 2
Shay Woodhouse’s work processes concepts of home, addiction, religion (LDS specifically), agrarian crisis, rural identity and the American Dream. The narrative of her work cultivates a sense of nostalgia and carries repeated symbolism drawn from photographs and memories.
Woodhouse was born 5th generation on a potato farm in Oakley, Idaho. She is a multimedia artist with a focus in ceramics, painting and jewelry design. She received her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 2018. Since then she has resided in Boise, where set has a full time studio practice and runs The Clay Collective offering classes and art shows to her community.
