STEPHANIE BROOKS: TEMPORARILY CLOSE

Stephanie Brooks is a conceptual artist, writer, and curator living in Chicago. She was awarded a BFA degree from Ohio University and MFA degree from University of Illinois Chicago. She has exhibited her work nationally, including Arizona, California, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, and Wisconsin, and internationally in England, Denmark, Germany, and Slovenia. Her publications include Love Is A Certain Kind Of Flower, Green Lantern Press; Poem and Poem Forms, Illinois State University Press; The Virginia Quarterly Review; May Contain Nuts, Perennial Currents Press; and Critical Inquiry, University of Chicago Press. Her art is included in the permanent collections of The Whitney Museum of American Art, NYC; The Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, IL; Microsoft Corporation, Redmond, WA; the Philip Morris Corporation, Stamford, CT; and The MacArthur Foundation, Chicago, IL, as well as many private collections. Curatorial projects include Humor Us, and Oli Watt, What? at the Riverside Arts Center, IL.
